The Truth About Walk-In Tubs

Walk-in tub with someone in it - WesternStairLifts.com

We get quite a few emails and calls a week asking us about our range of walk-in tubs. The inquiries we get range from our site visitors wanting to know the basics, all the way through to wanting to know everything there is to know about the walk-in tubs we sell here in Salt Lake City and on our site, WesternStairLifts.com.
Let’s start off with one of the most commonly asked questions.

Will a Walk-In Tub Change My Life?

To answer this question, it’s best to know who buys our walk-in bathtubs. Simply put, the majority of walk-in tubs we sell in our store are sold to senior citizens, although our walk-in tubs are also popular with people who are recuperating from or living with injuries or medical conditions such as arthritis. Our buyers are interested in our walk-in bathtubs because stiff joints take their toll, especially when trying to get in and out of a standard bathtub. And it’s not just the getting in and out of the bathtub that’s the issue. We’ve not created (nor has anyone else to our knowledge) the ability to hover whilst in a shower. If we had, you would enjoy a shower without having to stand, but as we haven’t created a hover shower yet, standing in the shower is an important part of getting clean. But is it? Not with a walk-in tub!

Our walk-in tubs eliminate the need to stand as they all feature a fantastically comfortable seating area that makes it really easy to get in and out of the bath. This is great news as it means we no longer need to spend time creating the hover shower, but it also means that anyone with joint aches and pains doesn’t need to spend time standing while they shower, which can be quite painful.

Then there’s the slipping issue. Water on most surfaces causes even the best of us to slip. Even shower mats can’t guarantee a slip-free shower experience. Being elderly and slipping in a bathtub isn’t great, in fact the consequences can be quite serious.

On the other hand, There’s also a door on the side of our tubs that makes it super easy for you to get in and out of the tub. And you don’t have to worry about any leakages either as the walk-in tub door has a watertight seal.

Do Walk-In Tubs Provide Hydrotherapy?

Another great benefit is that our walk-in tubs are fitted with outstanding hydrotherapy jets. These built-in water jets don’t only provide a soothing hydrotherapy experience, but they massage joints and muscles relieving pain quickly.

Fitting and Maintaining a Walk-In Tub

We get asked by a lot of our customers if they’ll need to rip up their bathroom when it comes to fitting a walk-in tub. The answer we give surprises most as no extra fitting is needed as our walk-in tubs fit nicely into the place of the old bathtub. So you get all the features of a hot tub spa without any of the fuss, plus our walk-in tubs make it easy to enjoy hydrotherapy benefits all year round.

In the next few weeks, we’re going to look at some more outstanding benefits our walk-in tubs provide. In the meantime, check out our excellent selection of walk-in tubs.

    Hi Kevin

Nice article, and agree with the points you made. If you have time checkout my site walkintubshq.com which has some frequently asked questions and additional article content re: walk in tubs you could use here as well…especially the “covered by medicare” and “tax deductions,” those seem really top of mind now.

Also, let me know if you would be interested in being listed as a helpful resource on the site.

    Best

This is some great information, and I appreciate your point that walk-in tubs are much more accessible and are a great option for senior citizens. My dad has been having knee problems, and it’s been really difficult for him to get in and out of the bathtub. I’ll definitely talk to him about installing a walk-in tub to make that easier for him. Thanks for the great post!

I want to get something new for my new bathroom. I didn’t know that you could get walk in tubs like this! I love the fact that you can spend time in there and relax in the warm water. It’s nice that it’s so easy to get in and out, as well!

Thanks for bringing to my attention that walk-in tubs are useful for those with stiff joints. My mom has been having some problems with her knees, and she can’t bend them very far at all, which makes it nearly impossible for her to get in the tub. Perhaps it would be a good idea for her to install a walk-in tub so that isn’t an issue anymore.
